Fast boat from Bali
The most popular way to get to Gili Air. Fast boats run daily from Padangbai, Serangan and Amed in Bali; the crossing takes about two to two and a half hours depending on the weather and the operator. Morning sailings are smoothest; afternoon ones can feel bouncier in windy months.

Most fast boats from Bali to Gili Air leave between 08:00 and 13:30. Aim for morning; it's flatter water.

Flight into Lombok
The quickest option if you're coming directly. From Lombok International Airport it's about a two-hour taxi ride north to Bangsal harbour, then a short hop across the water to Gili Air. We can pre-arrange the taxi and the boat pickup for your arrival flight; just send us your flight number.

Airport pickup from Lombok: tell us your flight number and we'll have an English-speaking driver waiting at arrivals.

Bangsal public boat: about 30 minutes, Rp 12,000 per person. Leaves when it fills up; it's cheap and it's an experience.

Bangsal fast boat: about 10 minutes, Rp 85,000 per person, roughly hourly. Our pick for anyone with kids or big luggage.
Hop from Trawangan or Meno
Already island-hopping? A public shuttle boat runs between Gili Trawangan, Meno and Air several times a day, and a private charter from the jetty is easy to arrange on the spot. If you've tried Trawangan and want somewhere quieter; welcome to the middle island.

Public island-hopper: cheap and cheerful. Leaves when it fills up, usually mid-morning and late afternoon.
